By a popular demand, here is the diagram with Historical Scores for the Heavyweights!
It includes 8 HW fighters that were active lately. Most of them didn’t fight before 2001, so data before 2000 is excluded.
HW category never had a lot of good fighters, so there is not to many top fighters to fight against.
That lack of quality fighters is the main reason why Fedor never picked over 750.
But he was on the top of HW for last 5 to 6 years. Why he went down in 2007? That is obvious. He fought only Choi (freak) and Lindland (MW).
Many people forget how dominant Big Nog was in 2001/2002/2003. Also, Cro Cop was going up very fast in 2005/2006, but now he is just one of the guys.
Frank Mir had a very interesting career. He became a champion in 2004 and then had a motorcycle accident. It took him 3 years to get back to Top 5. We will see what will happen on Saturday.
Career of Andrei Arlovski can be best described as a seesaw (up,down,up,down). Tim was 3 times UFC champion, but never even close to be a beast HW.
Enough said about strength of the UFC HW division. It will be much better for next year.
